Faith Communities
The YMCA of Central New Mexico and faith communities are a natural collaboration. Churches are committed to helping families and individuals find their way through innovative programming and resources such as marriage counseling, financial services, youth programming, services for families needing support with disabilities, senior outreach and much more.
We all strive to impact people through service and dedication to spirit, mind and body. So, two years ago, we formed the Better Together Collaboration, a faith communities partnership. In our first year, we joined together to provide:
- Community activities to youth through neighborhood churches
- Swim parties for children and teens
- Collaborative Youth Volunteer Training Program for church volunteers
Additionally, the YMCA sponsored important events celebrating our shared Christian values:
- GospelFest
- Martin Luther King March
- Musical acts at the African American Pavilion
